Thursday is collection day. Please have your trash and recyclables out after 6 PM the night before, but no later than 5 AM the day of collection.
Recyclables are collected every other week.
Please refer to the calendar showing recycling pick-up dates.
** Please pay special attention to the Holiday schedule as outlined in RED on the calendar.
If the Holiday falls on or before Thursday, trash will be collected on the next business day which would be Friday. Please put your trash out on Thursday at dusk for pick up on Friday.
Put your trash out in cans or bags designed for household trash collection. Please do not put out trash in paper bags, cardboard boxes or containers smaller than 20 gallons. Put your recyclables in an open-topped recycling container clearly marked "RECYCLE".
One bulk item may be put out each week. For information on what Advanced Disposal will accept, please call 610 440-3700.
Carpets must be cut to three-foot widths, rolled and tied.
No auto parts, tires, batteries, hazardous materials or construction debris will be collected.
Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners and dehumidifiers contain Freon (CFCs) that by law must be removed before they can be disposed. They will not be collected.
Only Property owners will be billed. All bills will be sent to the address of record. If the property is rented or leased, it is the obligation of the property owner to pay the bill.

Newspapers & magazines: Place in a brown paper bag or tie with string. Anything that comes with the newspaper can be recycled. Place on top of your recycle bin.
Corrugated Cardboard: the kind with the ripple in the middle. Break down boxes, tie in bundles. Place next to your recycling bin.
Cans: Aluminum beverage cans. Steel and tin food and beverage cans. Please rinse the can and remove the lid or push it into the can. No foil or food trays.
Glass: Food and beverage containers such as jars and bottles only! Clear, green or brown glass. Remove lids and rinse. Cans and glass may be mixed together in the same recycling container. No light bulbs, mirrors, window glass.
Plastics: #1 through #7 food and beverage containers only. The number is on the bottom of the bottle. Most soda, milk and water bottles fit this category.
Christmas Trees will be picked up by the Township Road Crew starting the first week of January and continuing through the first week of February. If you wish for your Christmas Tree to be collected curbside, please place the tree next to your normal garbage during this timeframe. Additionally, Christmas trees may be dropped at the First Regional Compost Authority located at 6701 Weaversville Road during posted business hours.
Yard Waste Composting Items: Township Residents are to drop off the leaves, brush and branches behind the Municipal Garage in the areas designated for these items. The drop off area is limited to leaves (loose or in brown paper bags only), small brush (up to 4 inches in diameter and no longer than 6 feet), hedge trimmings, garden plant residue, Christmas trees free of ornaments and tinsel.
Items NOT Accepted for Composting include: Grass cuttings, Sod, Tree Stumps, Railroad Ties, Fence Posts, Lumber, Plastic Bags. If you have any further questions or are unsure if your materials will be accepted for processing - please contact the First Regional Compost Authority at
Recycled compost and mulch are free to Township Residents. No loading service provided by the Township. Please bring your own shovels and buckets. In addition, please make sure all loads are secure when coming to and from the Township Building with these items.
The Township Municipal Garage accepts used motor oil during our normal business hours. Please supply proof of residency to the Administrative Staff prior to proceeding to leave your used oil containers. This drop off site is for used motor oil ONLY.
Beginning January 24, 2013, a disposal ban on covered devices went into effect in Pennsylvania. From this point forward, no person may dispose of a covered device, or any of its components, with their municipal solid waste. These items are required to either be to be transferred to certified electronics recycling facilities (if the item is intact). If the item has been physically broken and the original components are not intact the item must be treated as Hazardous Waste.
Covered devices include: desktop computers, laptop computers, computer monitors, computer peripherals and televisions.The Township periodically schedules drop off events for acceptance of Electronic Items for recycling.
Please check our website for an upcoming event or in the interim arrange for recycling of your items with a certified electronic recycling facility in the area.
